How it works: questions
Q01How long does it take to set up GoTinyURL?
About a minute for your first short link and ten minutes for a full setup with a QR code and a bio page. Connecting a custom domain adds a DNS change and an activation check, normally within one business day.
Q02Do I need to install anything?
No. GoTinyURL runs in the browser at app.gotinyurl.com on desktop and mobile.
Q03What happens when someone clicks my short link?
Their browser asks GoTinyURL for the link, GoTinyURL records an anonymous click and replies with a redirect, and the browser opens your destination. It takes a fraction of a second.
Q04Can I change a link after sharing it?
Yes. Edit the destination and every copy of the link, including printed QR codes, goes to the new page.
Q05What happens after I buy a plan?
Stripe takes the payment, our system creates or upgrades your account automatically, and you get a one-time login link on the thank-you page.
Q06What if I already have a free account?
Pay with the same email and the account is upgraded; nothing is lost.
Q07Can I automate link creation?
Yes, with the REST API on every plan, at 60 requests per minute per key.
Q08Where is my data stored?
On GoTinyURL's own servers. See the privacy policy for what is stored and for how long.
